The 'wow' feature in Backstage Chalet is the magical elevating hot tub taking you up into the skies of Zermatt for a truly unique view of the Matterhorn. However, don't overlook the glass surrounded loft living area and cleverly built fireplace - a great space for a group to socialise in!
The chalet is based on an old Valais house dating from the 1940s, which Heinz has modernised and extended by two storeys in line with the chalet nature of the building. This extension has been constructed exclusively from local larch and designed to include large areas of glass, providing a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view over the village and the Matterhorn.
The chalet has 5 double bedrooms, one of them containing a high sleeper and thus an extra bed, making it ideal for an additional child. The roof structure has open gables, and provides an open living, dining and kitchen space, with the fireplace giving the place a cosy atmosphere.
At the press of a button the roof opens and the whirlpool is hydraulically lifted above the roof! The view from above the chalet is truly breathtaking, making the experience unlike any other you can find in Zermatt.
Naturally all the furniture and furnishings have been developed and manufactured in the Heinz Julen studio in Zermatt. The chalet is moreover equipped with contemporary art from Zermatt's art rooms.
There is also an exclusive team, led by a hostess, a cook and chalet maids, dedicated to making your stay as perfect as possible. On six evenings, your exclusive team will cook for you on site. Once a week, you can sample the top quality "after seven" restaurant, where you will be treated as VIP chalet guests and take your place at the centrally situated family table.
Prices are for exclusive use of the chalet to include full gourmet catering, complimentary drinks bar and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.
The chalet is also available on both a bed and breakfast and a self catered basis, to include daily housekeeping and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.

At Backstage Chalet, expect to experience a luxury ski holiday in Zermatt like no other. In a chalet of incredible style and unique design, you will be delivered a bespoke 5* service that will be adapted to your needs. A pre-arrival concierge service, which will extend through the duration of your stay, are on hand to use their expert knowledge of Zermatt to best help you. On arrival you will be shuttled by electro-taxi, in this famously car-free resort, to your chalet where you will be welcomed with a delightful champagne reception and welcome basket with tasty treats.
The chalet is well-equipped with luxurious linens, towels, robes and toiletries for the duration of your stay. Throughout your luxury ski holiday, you can be assured the chalet will be in top condition to return to after skiing thanks to the hard work and efforts of daily housekeeping from the chalet staff, and when taken on a catered or bed and breakfast basis, they will perform a turndown service also.
Catered guests will enjoy the benefit of menu consultation with their chef and chalet staff, so that the delicious 3-course evening meal on 6 out of 7 nights will be to everyone's liking.
