The exceptional Chalet Spa is tucked away in the Savoleyres area of Verbier, off a private road just two minutes’ walk from the Savoleyres lift and only a ten minute walk down to Place Centrale – but of course much quicker in one of Chalet Spa’s chauffeur driven cars! The location of this luxury chalet is truly fantastic, with almost uninterrupted views from the back of the chalet you have your own private slice of Verbier.
Entertainment Area
After arriving into the garage of the property which has room for up to 6 cars, guests will be ushered through the door into the hallway which hosts the ski and boot room with its heated boot warmers. This floor also houses the pool table, wine cave and also the amazing home cinema. Kitted out with a mini-bar, media centre with Apple TV, Blu Ray player, Sky HDTV, iPod dock and PS3, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii. The kids (and probably all the men) will be entertained for hours on end – perfect for those white-out days!
Down a small set of stairs is a self-contained 2 bed apartment with kitchenette that would be perfect for staff, nannies or bodyguards. This isn’t included in the price of the chalet, details available on request.
Bedrooms
After a quick jog up the stairs you reach the next floor. This floor consists of four bedrooms and the chalet’s spa – but we’ll come on to that later. These four bedrooms are all en-suite and of a very reasonable size. With huge double beds which all have the option of splitting into two good size twins, the rooms also have magic mirror TVs with Sky and continental TV, an iPod dock, safe and lovely fine linens with cashmere throws. Two of the bedrooms also have an inter-connecting door to convert them into a great family suite with two bathrooms. All rooms open up onto a large terrace, some with exercise machines for you to limber up on whilst enjoying the beautiful view.
On the top floor of the chalet sits the penthouse Master Suite. Benefiting from a king size bed, private terrace and beautiful bathroom with rain shower and Jacuzzi bath with stunning mountain views, the suite also has a fireplace cut into the wall opposite the bed which allows guests to take advantage of the beautiful vista through the flickering flames.
Living Area
On the next floor you’ll find the fantastic open plan living and dining area. A huge leather sofa occupies the right of the room, facing the contemporary central fireplace with its floor level hearth and mirror surrounded flue with set-in TV suspended from the ceiling. Just behind the fireplace is the transparent glass dining table just a few steps from the place where all the culinary magic happens – the kitchen!
The living area opens up onto a vast balcony complete with comfy sofas adorned with furs and throws to keep you warm alongside the outdoor heaters. Just around the corner is a hand-made Canadian cedar wood hot tub with splendid views down and across the valley, perfect for relaxing with a glass of bubbly or two. This outdoor area can be used to host barbecues during both winter and summer (after a great deal of snow clearing as you can see below!
Spa
I suppose it’s time we got down to the pièce de résistance, the reason for the name of this marvellous chalet! The spa area is perfectly located on the same floor as the 4 bedrooms which means you avoid any embarrassing dashes across the living area to get there. You enter through a coded door, perfect for keeping smaller children from gaining access without adult supervision, straight onto the side of the pool. Measuring 10 by 3.3 metres, the pool is perfect for laps and can also be turned into a water polo court for endless hours of fun! The ceiling above the pool is fitted with fibre optic night sky mood lighting which changes colour, it certainly is spectacular at night time!
The sauna and hammam carry on this lighting and are fed with eucalyptus to help that relaxing process. Just opposite the spa facilities is a well equipped gym with top of the range equipment from Technogym and Schwinn. At the opposite end of the pool you can step out onto the terrace, slide open a cover on the decking and reveal a huge 7-person Jacuzzi with pop-up speakers and TV – absolutely amazing in my eyes!
Technology
One thing that Chalet Spa does fantastically (aside from the obvious spa) is the linking of every area by technology. Every room has its own iPad with custom-made Chalet Spa app. The app allows you to;
- Play music from Spotify to any room or terrace inside and outside the chalet. You can play Chopin in the living room whilst the kids listen to One Direction in the swimming pool.
- Control the TV, switch it on, off, use the TV guide.
- Turn lights on and off, dimming them too.
- Open and close the shutters.
- View security cameras placed in the public areas of the chalet.
It really is an amazing addition which makes this beautiful chalet stand out from the crowd.
There really isn’t a bad word I can say about Chalet Spa. From the ground up it’s an outstanding chalet to suit families, couples or large parties looking for somewhere unique to stay any time of year.
